Privacy Policy

This explains what Cache Out collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers cache-out.com, operated by Global Village Platforms, LLC.
What we collect
Your GitHub account. When you sign in we receive your GitHub username, display name, avatar URL and email address. We store the first three on your profile; your email is held by our authentication provider so we can identify your account. We never receive your GitHub password.
What you produce in a session. The code, whiteboard drawings and trace table in a room are saved so the room survives a refresh or a dropped connection. The written evaluation at the end, including its scores and comments and a snapshot of the final code, is stored and shown to the candidate.
Practice on your own is different: your solo code, whiteboard and trace table are kept in your own browser’s local storage and are not sent to us.
Availability. While the queue page is open we record that you are available to interview, as your user ID and a timestamp, so candidates can be told whether anyone is around. It is deleted when you leave.
Payment records. Stripe processes all payments. We never see or store your card number. We keep Stripe’s identifiers — the checkout session, payment, charge, refund, transfer and connected-account IDs — plus the amount and status, so we can reconcile who paid and who was paid.
Technical logs. Our servers and our hosting providers log requests for security and debugging, which includes IP addresses.
Voice
Voice is peer-to-peer and is never recorded or stored by us. Audio flows directly between the two participants and does not pass through our servers.
There is a consequence worth stating plainly: because the connection is direct, each participant’s IP address is visible to the other while voice is connected. That is how peer-to-peer calling works everywhere; it is not specific to us. If you would rather not share it, do not join voice — the room works without it.
Who sees what
Your session partner sees what you write in the room while you are both in it. Interviewers also see model solutions and private interviewer notes for the problem; candidates never receive those. Your evaluation is shown to you afterwards. Nobody else can read your rooms.
Why we are allowed to
We process this to provide the service you asked for, to take and make payments, to keep the service secure and working, and to meet legal and tax obligations. Where consent is the basis — your microphone — you give it by choosing to join voice, and you can stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. There are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, nothing of that kind. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in.
We rely on these providers to run the service:
- GitHub — sign-in.
- Supabase — database, authentication and realtime messaging.
- Stripe — payments and payouts, under its own privacy policy.
- Our hosting providers — serving the site and running the session server.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users.
How long we keep it
Your profile lasts as long as your account. Session content and evaluations are kept so you can look back at them. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically several years, even after an account closes. Availability records are transient.
Your choices
Write to support@cache-out.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and its content deleted. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, or to complain to a data protection authority.
Deletion has one limit worth knowing in advance: a session involves two people, and we cannot erase the other participant’s record of an interview they gave or received, or payment records we are required to retain.
Where your data is
Our providers operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, with appropriate safeguards.
Children
Cache Out is for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data. See the Terms of Service.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
